Château de Reignac, when wine tourism makes sense!

As you know, wine is a real passion for me. When you discover the castle of Reignac, we understand why!

First of all, it is part of castles pretty close to Bordeaux (20 to 30 minutes from the city center), which is a real plus!

Then, we pass the portal… We take the long path that runs along this sumptuous remains… We start dreaming of the good life!

And then you meet the team! And, hold on tight! A perfect agreement, humor and great ideas: the perfect cocktail for a fabulous time.

To be quite honest with you, their communication on Facebook is a real example for me! I let you discover this video that says it…

But the Château de Reignac is also wine! And not just any wine! For the “record”, a few years ago, the great wine of Reignac 2001 was presented during a tasting blind in the middle of the greatest wines of Bordeaux… and brace yourself, this superior Bordeaux finished 2nd! Another video that talks about this famous tasting:

Back to wine tourism, in addition to the fact that the Castle has magnificent benefits, I want to talk specifically about “the incredible journey of the River to the wine”. While activity has a cost (€ 215 per person), but honestly it’s a fabulous day.

Go to the tourist office of Bordeaux for a departure by bus (we don’t drive!), direction cooperage hawing for a discovery in a friendly atmosphere of the profession of Cooper. And Yes, Reignac wine wouldn’t be what it is without beautiful barrels! Then, a visit to the Château de Reignac awaits you with the discovery of the garden of scents (amazing to discover these aromatic plants whose odors are found in wine) and a tasting of the wines of the estate in the Dovecote, and there, GREAT SHOW! This loft has a fascinating mechanism… But I won’t tell you more, I’ll let you when even a few surprises!

After lunch served on the property, your return on Bordeaux is a ship on the river! The great class so!

I hope sincerely given you want to participate in this day, which will be available from the month of May every Tuesday (reservation at the tourism office of Bordeaux).

I’d like to finish, talk you about Nicolas, the “conductor”, as it is presented on the Web site of the Castle. It is a character that fascinates me! In addition to the fact that it is largely responsible for (with Olivier) of quality wines, Nicolas is a poet, an artist. For quite some time, he writes the blog of the castle that I let you discover by clicking here… You tell me the news!

And for several week, Nicolas draws… and sincerely follow the adventures of the castle through the character of Reignyx, it’s like reading a comic strip of high quality! These are some of my drawings, favorite:

The instant photo!

I came to the castle for their market of Christmas in December. Thanks to my photo, I won a magnum of Chateau de Reignac 2010 in the contest organized by the team! It was family time, so I took advantage of Christmas to open this wonder! An absolute delight that my father has particularly appreciated!
